In Psalm 65, verses 9 through 13, David writes, “You take care of the earth and water it, making it rich and fertile. The river of God has plenty of water; it provides a bountiful harvest of grain, for you have ordered it so. You drench the plowed ground with rain, melting the clods and leveling the ridges. You soften the earth with showers and bless its abundant crops. You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance. The grasslands of the wilderness become a lush pasture, and the hillsides blossom with joy. The meadows are clothes with flocks of sheep, and the valleys are carpeted with grain. They all shout and sing for joy!”
The beauty of these verses really struck me tonight when I read them. Right now a summer storm is brewing outside, because of the heat that we had during the day. I sometimes struggle in the middle of summer to appreciate just how beautiful a season this truly is, and these verses reminded me tonight of just how lovely God’s creation truly is.
I experienced this same beauty when I interacted with Jesus as the consciousness of the Sun, and he surrounded me in his golden, radiant light and love. I love to remember the feeling of being in his presence and being enveloped in a depth of unconditional love that is impossible to put into words. It seems that everything that has to do with God and Christ is just so beautiful and enchanting, overwhelmingly so. These verses I read tonight reminded me of this, and reminded me to try to overlook the heat and take in the true beauty of this luscious, fertile season, where everything is literally teeming with life and abundance.
Christ wants us to experience this beauty and peace permanently, and he loves us all so much that he incarnated here in order to bring us the message that we can attain the Salvation that he offers us if we repent of our sins and ask forgiveness and begin a life of obedience to the principles that he espouses in the New Testament. When we repent and ask for forgiveness he invite him into our lives to fix the parts that are broken and move us toward a more spiritual and righteous way of living. He wants all of us to accept this path so that we may all join him and God in heaven one day, where we will never be separated from the beauty, bliss, and endless unconditional love that he and God are made of.
