In John chapter six, verse 35, we are told by Jesus, ” I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
These verses are such a beautiful promise. I grew up as a Southern Baptist and heard the New Testament verses over and over again in church but I really did not understand what this meant until I interacted with Christ as the consciousness of the sun while using a legal substance over several years.
During this time I had very consistent interactions with Jesus, who would come to me and surround me in a beautiful, radiant golden light. During these precious experiences I was draped in warmth and love, and graced with a feeling of tranquility I had never felt before.
While these experiences were happening, I felt as though I had no needs or wants whatsoever. I felt as though I lacked for nothing, and that enveloped in the holy presence of Christ, I had found the true home of my soul. It was then that I understood why Jesus tells us that we won’t thirst or hunger for anything once we accept him into our lives and allow us to guide him.
When we accept the Salvation that he offers, we allow him to become our spiritual authority. He already is, of course, but we accept this as our spiritual truth. He loves us so much that he suffered greatly after incarnating on earth, which he did in order to share with us that following him is the path to the salvation of our spirit, or soul.
When we reach out and take hold of the gift he offers, he becomes a part of us and he begins to guide us down a path toward spiritual righteousness. He does this out of a depth of unconditional love that is hard to understand for human beings; he wants desperately for all of us to join him and God in heaven after we pass from this earth, or at the second coming of Christ, whichever comes first.
Christ wants us to understand that he can meet all the needs of our soul, and that we don’t have to worry about spiritual thirst and hunger when we accept him into our lives. And he promises us that once we abandon our earthly bodies, all of us who accept him will be at home in his holy presence, truly wrapped in the perfect peace and love that he offers to everyone alive.
