In Mark chapter 11, verse 25, after Jesus tells us that we have to believe we have received what we are praying for, he says, “But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.”
This verse testifies to just how important forgiveness is to Jesus and God, that they want us to forgive others of any trespasses before we pray to God for anything else. When we think about the importance of forgiveness to God and Christ, we only have to remember that the reason Jesus incarnated on earth and went through such torment was to bring us the message of forgiveness; that if we repent of our transgressions and ask forgiveness, he will cleanse and purify our souls of the scars or wounds that these acts leave in our souls.
Clearly Jesus wants us to grant other people the same mercy that he granted us. We don’t have to suffer to the great extent that he did in order to grant other people the forgiveness that he gave us, but his act of mercy and compassion on humanity shows just how highly valued this concept is in the spiritual realm.
When I interacted with Jesus as the consciousness of the Sun while using a legal substance over several years, I was taken into the hell realms many times while wrapped in his protection. He made it clear to me that there were people there of their own volition, because they had fled the realms of heaven to hide in the darkness of hell due to their own shame and remorse about what they had done during their lifetimes. He allowed me to see that he was there to try to get them to receive forgiveness and accept spiritual relief from him.
There is no greater love than the love that Christ has for human beings, and he just wants us to bring that same love through our hearts and give it to other people. He wants us to stay in a state of forgiveness with others so that we can be in the right relationship with him and God, who have forgiven our every trespass, and show others the mercy and compassion that he and God have so freely given to us.
