In Matthew seven, verses 13 and 14, Jesus tells us, “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.”
These words are a strong caution to all of us that we have to put the life of our souls before anything else in this life. We have to remember that it is so easy to be distracted by the many things can can steal our focus during everyday life, and strive to keep our focus on leading a life of obedience to Christ and his teachings.
I interacted with Christ as a radiant being of golden light, the consciousness of the Sun, our star, while I was using a legal substance intermittently over a few years. I found him to be overflowing in unconditional love and peace, and he wrapped me in a feeling of warmth and safety that was something I had never experienced before.
He is so full of love for all of us that he came here and suffered and died a death of unspeakable torment as a result of trying to teach us all how to find this road to God’s Kingdom, through repenting to him our sins and allowing him to heal the places in our souls that are damaged by transgressing against others and ourselves. He wants so badly for each of us to connect to him and to allow him to show us the path to freedom from worldly concerns and to salvation for our souls.
I didn’t go looking to have Christianity confirmed for me when I was using this substance, but my interactions with Jesus and God confirmed for me the truth of the teachings I had been raised in, though I had strayed far away from them in adulthood. The Jesus that I met astounded me with his outpouring of love and joy, and his desire to give his gift of Salvation to humanity, if only we will open ourselves up to receiving it. I hope that everyone will make the very important decision to accept Christ into their lives and allow him to lead the way to God’s Kingdom, our true home.
