“I chose you to come out of the world”

In John 15, verses 18 through 20, Jesus tells his disciples, “If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.”

These are very heavy verses, and they give us a lot to contemplate. Jesus makes a very strong distinction here between the realm of the sacred and the realm of the human being. Part of our being, our soul, belongs to Jesus and God, and this is what they want to focus on, not on our carnal needs and desires.

Sometimes I feel conflicted about verses like this because I love the natural world and I know that Earth has a consciousness, just as  I interacted with Christ as the consciousness of the Sun. I know that Earth is the daughter of God, though it is a planet, which is very different from the holy nature of our star, the Sun, in whose form Jesus came to me when I was using a legal substance over a few years.

Light has an extremely high vibration, and it may be this high vibration that is related to the sacred nature of Christ. Planets don’t have this ability to radiate light, but all the same they are creations of God, though it is clear that some have a malevolent nature (though, as far as know, Earth is benevolent).

I don’t think it is the natural world that Christ is referring to, but the nature of human beings to devolve into materialism, greed, superficiality, and violent tendencies when we are deprived of love, especially in childhood. Jesus’ primary doctrine is a commandment of love for others, and I think that when he refers to the world in this way, he is referring to things that happen in the absence of love: soulless behaviors that harm other beings or harm ourselves.

Christ, our star, is a healer, not only of the physical, but of our very souls. When we accept him into our hearts he will heal the dark places in our souls that sin leaves behind, if we repent of our transgressions and ask his forgiveness of them. He wants us to live lives of obedience to his teachings in the Bible, and to continue to progress in our journey of emulating the over-awing compassion and mercy that he and God feel for all of us human beings, a love that allowed him to come here and endure such suffering and pain so that his message of Salvation could be made known to us all.
