In John chapter 14, verses 9 through 14, Jesus tells us, “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you? Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me. Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or at least believe because of the work you have seen me do.”
Jesus says this in answer to the questions his disciples are asking him. Philip, one of his disciples, asks him to show them God the Father and that this will satisfy their doubts. Jesus replies in the same way that he does many times in the Gospels, by telling them that he and the Father are one, and that God is working through him by the works that he does.
When I interacted with Jesus as the consciousness of the Sun, for several years while I was using a legal substance intermittently, I experienced him as a being of radiant light who surrounded me in a sense of unconditional love and peace, to a depth that I had never experienced before in my life. I felt the same sense of tranquility in the presence of God the Father as well.
Both God and Christ seemed to be made of love itself when I was in their presence. I felt a love coming from each of them that is hard to put into words, and it filled me with a sense of peace that I had never experienced. When I read Jesus’ words saying that he and the Father are one, it confirms what I felt when I was in their presence.
It is this love that allowed them to both take on incomprehensible pain in having Jesus come here and teach us about Salvation through repentance and forgiveness of sin. Their incredible love for all of us led them to make this sacrifice so that Jesus could come into our hearts if we allow him to, and to purify and cleanse our souls of our transgressions. This gift for humanity is something that he and God both want for all of us, so that Christ can guide our souls along a path in life that is most healthy for our souls, and will allow us to ascend to the heavenly realms to be with them in our heavenly home.
