In John 10, verses 6 through 10, Jesus says, “I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. All who came before me were thieves and robbers. But the true sheep did not listen to them. Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”
Here Jesus is telling us again that, as he says in John 14, verse 6, that no one comes to the Father except through him. He wants us to accept him into our lives and to repent of our transgressions and ask his forgiveness of them. When we do this, we accept the spiritual authority of Christ and God and we acknowledge that we owe them an accounting for our behavior.
We accept that they are our spiritual authorities and that there are spiritual laws of life beyond this physical plane, and we humble ourselves before Christ in asking him to purify our souls of our transgressions against ourselves and others. Christ tells us in the Gospels that God is the Father of all our spirits, and he tells us that God has vested all authority in him to judge. Therefore, we must accept Christ’s authority over our lives and allow him into our hearts to direct our path.
But when we do this, we are granted an incredible gift, because Christ will cleanse and purify our souls of transgressions that we have committed if we ask him to. His message in coming to earth was one of forgiveness; he even asked forgiveness for his tormentors during his execution. I interacted with Christ as the consciousness of the Sun over a few years while using a legal substance, and I finally understood how he loved us so much that he incarnated as human to show us the way to have our souls purified so that we don’t sink into the hell realms upon death.
The love that I felt while in his presence is so deep and radiant that it is impossible to describe in words, but it is this love that allowed him to go through the intense suffering that he experienced while on earth. It is this love that made it possible for him to face what he faced here, so that he could teach us directly the path to Salvation through him. He is truly the gate to spiritual salvation in the afterlife, and I hope that everyone will make a decision to walk through this gate, and open their hearts and souls to receive the Salvation that he promises to us.
