In John chapter 3, verses 18 through 21, Jesus tells us how important it is to believe in him, saying, “There is no judgement against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgement is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear that their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.”
I love the allusions to Christ as light in the Bible, because when I interacted with Christ over several years while using a legal substance, he came to me as the consciousness of the Sun. I was not expecting this, and the feeling of being wrapped in this warmth and radiant, blissful, golden light while experiencing an overwhelming depth of unconditional love is a feeling I will never forget.
I had many interactions with Christ during this period, and most of the time they were as I described above; I would know that he was approaching because the air would begin to undulate and take on a golden hue, and then I would feel this overwhelming unconditional love surrounding me from every angle. I would feel suspended in his perfect peace and love, and feel as if I was completely warm, safe, and protected, and lacked for absolutely nothing.
Many times, though, Christ carried me into the hell realms in his protection, and I saw many people who wore dark shrouds and were trapped in this place of darkness. It seemed to me that they were there possibly of their own volition, having fled the light just as Christ talks about in the verses above. I am not saying this is true of everyone there, but it seemed that these souls carried so much shame and sadness at least in part due to their own lack of self-forgiveness.
Jesus seemed to be trying to show them, through my example, as someone who had been forgiven for very egregious sins in a past life, that they could be forgiven of these sins if they would allow him to forgive them, and be willing to forgive themselves. During these experiences I felt the unbelievably deep love that Jesus has for all of us, and how badly he wants us to come to him and accept him as our Savior, and repent to him and ask forgiveness of these transgressions so that he can heal these wounds in our soul and grant us Salvation.
He deeply wants and needs us to allow him to do this, his love for all of us is so great. I hope that everyone will trust in Jesus’ love and mercy and allow him to give forgiveness to those who need it and want it. We are promised that if we do so and if we submit to his spiritual authority by obeying his commandments to love others as ourselves and to love God with all our hearts, he will guide us to our heavenly home upon our passing.
