“The shield of faith”

In Ephesians chapter six, verses 13 through 17, Paul writes, “Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

I really like the metaphors that Paul uses in this passage; his descriptive language is very beautiful. One really feels as if one is putting on this armor while reading this passage, and when I read through it I felt more and more protected as I imagined putting on each piece of armor.

Paul is very direct in this chapter of Ephesians about the malevolent spiritual forces that exist and that try to misdirect the destiny of human beings. They are always at work trying to force us off of the path of the sacred purity of God and Christ, and it is important for us to be aware of this at all times.

I interacted with Christ as the consciousness of the Sun over a period of several years when I was using a legal substance. I also interacted with God the Father as well; both he and Christ seem to be beings of light who are made of love itself. There seems to be a strong parallel in the spiritual world between the opposing qualities of light and darkness, and those of good and evil.

I mentioned yesterday about how Christ came to me last year on the solar eclipse and seemed devastated that so many people had lined up to witness the darkening of his holy light. We just had a lunar eclipse, and I know that we have two solar eclipses coming up this year; one in July and one in December. I hope that everyone will refrain from observing these eclipses, but instead pray for the protection of Christ during them.

We need to worship the light of Christ that graces us with spiritual protection every single day, and not make a spectacle of the occasional obstruction of the Christ light, something which could be catastrophic for all beings on earth. Christ alludes to eclipses being a harbinger of the second coming, so we know that these are not positive events. I hope that everyone will refrain from celebrating the darkness that comes with them, and will instead revere Christ’s holy light every single day that we are graced by it.
