“Be filled with the Holy Spirit”

In Ephesians chapter five, verses fifteen through twenty, Paul writes, “So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

I really love these verses from Paul; he gives a good description of how we should live. He tells us to connect with God in our lives on a daily basis, and that is great advice. I started a church on my property called “The Church of the Heavenly Light of Jesus Christ”, to honor the dual nature of Christ as both our human savior and the consciousness of the Sun, our star. I have a little service several times a week; though I aim for having one every day, it sometimes doesn’t happen.

But I know that I feel better when I do it, and that connection helps me focus on the teachings of God and Christ, and to center myself in the word of God. It gives me a focus for the day, and a Christ-centered approach to life. It helps me to let go of self, and my self-focused way of relating to others. It brings me closer to Jesus, and helps me to connect with something so much greater than myself.
