In Ephesians chapter two, verses eight through ten, Paul writes, “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
Paul reminds us of a very important principle in these verses, that we are saved through grace, the grace of God. I interacted with God and Christ using a legal substance over several years, and I was amazed at the depth of the love that I felt coming from both of them, which is very difficult to adequately describe in words.
I understood then why God allowed Christ to come here and suffer so much to teach us how to accept salvation through repentance and forgiveness of sin; it is due to this love that defies all description. They both wanted us to understand their spiritual authority over our souls, and that they love us so much that they are willing to forgive us if we repent of our sins to them and ask their forgiveness. In this way, they heal the scars or wounds that our transgressions leave behind in our souls, and purify our souls of them so that they are like new.
It was an incredibly selfless act that Christ committed to come here and give us this gift, and I hope that everyone will accept the precious gift that he offers us, so that everyone can have their soul purified by Christ, begin a life of obedience to his teachings, and thus ascend to the heavenly realms upon passing.
