Psalm 147, verses seven through eleven, says, “Sing out your thanks to the Lord, sing praises to our God with a harp. He covers the heavens with clouds, provides rain for the earth, and makes the grass grow in mountain pastures. He gives food to the wild animals and feeds the young ravens when they cry. He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse, or in human might. No, the Lord’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.”
I love the nature imagery in these verses. I have always felt most at peace when I am outdoors, and this is when I feel most connected to God. I love the verse, ‘he gives food to the wild animals’ because I always think about the many species that God takes care of on this earth, and I love to imagine what he thinks when he is designing each creature. I love to imagine what might be going through his head when he paints one this way or that; what makes him choose one color for one, and one feature for another. I know that they all have their niche in his beautiful creation, and he loves them all, just as he loves all human beings as well.
